The Rio Hondo Park Nature Program will offer an exciting opportunity for children ages 8-11 (entering 3rd – 6th grade) to participate in a week-long nature camp from July 14 through July 18 at the Ballona Wetlands Ecological Reserve in Playa Del Ray.
From 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily, campers will engage in hands-on learning activities focused on outdoor exploration throughout the week. They will develop practical skills such as reading maps, using a compass, and identifying animal tracks. These activities will enhance the campers’ understanding of the environment while building confidence in their ability to navigate and appreciate nature.
This camp provides a structured and educational approach to wilderness exploration, allowing children to connect with nature in a meaningful way. Led by experienced instructors, the program encourages curiosity, teamwork, and a sense of adventure in an immersive outdoor setting.
Registration for this trip will begin on Monday, April 7. The departure and return location will be Rio Hondo Park.
