Last month, residents had the opportunity to hear from candidates for the Pico Rivera City Council and El Rancho Unified School District Board of Education thanks to a Candidate Forum held at the Senior Center. The Pico Rivera Chamber of Commerce and the League of Women Voters – Whittier Chapter sponsored the well-attended Candidate Forum. The Candidate Forum allowed residents to hear the views of this year’s candidates prior to the November 5th, 2024 election.

After Election night, there will be a significant number of ballots to count. The County of Los Angeles County Clerk estimates that over 1 million ballots will still need to be counted after the November 5th Election. County elections officials must verify every ballot to ensure that every valid vote is counted correctly and only once.

» County Elections officials have 30 days to process and verify all ballots received.

» Election results will be updated on lavote.gov starting November 6th and continuing through November 29th, 2024, with updates occurring at least twice a week, in accordance with State requirements

» On December 3rd, 2024, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors is tentatively scheduled to declare the election concluded

» At the December 10th, 2024, City Council meeting, the City of Pico Rivera will officially certify the results of the General Municipal Election, and the newly elected Councilmembers will be sworn into office.
