City Hall will soon be closed to the general public as City Officials begin work on Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) improvements to both City Hall and City Hall West.
Last year, City Officials approved the ADA Project with funding coming from the Community Development Block Grant. The improvements will address ADA deficiencies that were identified in portions of the public restrooms, lobbies, paths-of-travel, and parking lots at City Hall, and City Hall West.
The projected work on City Hall and City Hall West includes behind-the-scenes work such as the reconstruction of partitions, plumbing, interior finishes, electrical and HVAC modifications, doors, flooring, ceilings, and millwork. The City Hall parking lot will also receive new asphalt, sidewalks, and curbs. Most of the improvements that residents will be able to take advantage of will include an ADA Work to Begin Soon on City Hall Property wheelchair lift located on the west side of City Hall facing the parking lot, ADA railings, and new curb-ramps.
The ADA Project will begin in early February, with anticipated completion in April. While City Hall will be closed due to the ongoing indoor construction, outdoor services will be offered on the grounds of City Hall.
