Last month, the El Rancho Unified School District and Whittier College signed a historic agreement that will benefit the District’s students for many years to come. This new partnership, established to facilitate the seamless enrollment of El Rancho High School graduates into Whittier College, marks a pivotal step in enhancing educational opportunities and supporting students in their transition to higher education.
The agreement paves the way for El Rancho Students to attend college with a guaranteed admission to Whittier College. In addition, Whittier College will provide students with workshops focused on financial aid and scholarship opportunities.
Students will be able to take dual enrollment courses that will be accepted for credit at Whittier College, giving students a head start on their college education. As well, Whittier College will provide campus access to current El Rancho students including libraries, laboratories, and extracurricular activities.
To be admitted, El Rancho Students must meet academic requirements, present a writing supplement, submit official transcripts and any additional documentation, and complete the online application process on commonapp.org or through the Instant Decision process available on the college’s website at whittier.edu
This partnership is a testament to the shared commitment of El Rancho Unified School District and Whittier College to the educational and personal development of local students. By providing a clear and supportive pathway from high school to college, this agreement ensures that El Rancho High School graduates are well-equipped to succeed in their higher education pursuits.
