Last month, students from El Rancho High School joined El Rancho High School Administration and officials from the El Rancho Unified School District to celebrate the opening of the Oasis Wellness Center at El Rancho High School.
The Oasis Wellness Center has been a project in the making since before the COVID-19 pandemic shut the schools down in 2020. It was a project that El Rancho Administrators had wanted to bring to the school after hearing input from El Rancho Students. Students had wanted a quiet place, a place to reflect, a time to meditate, a place to relax during the regular lunch hour, and to recharge for the remainder of the school day.
The Center not only provides a quiet place for students, it also provides a place for students to listen to lectures, play games and take advantage of the two onsite therapists that are available for students daily.
The Oasis Wellness Center was made possible through furnishing donations by the Los Angeles Centers for Alcohol and Drug Abuse and other in-kind donations through New Horizons Caregivers group.
