Rio Hondo College has been a staple in the community since 1963. Many Pico Rivera residents have attended Rio Hondo College for career training, to partake in an associate’s degree program, or to transfer to a local university. The College offers a full transfer curriculum along with basic skills courses. In addition, the College offers several career programs such as nursing, police and fire academies, and automotive & alternative fuels.
Since 1963, the College has served the communities of Pico Rivera, El Monte, Whittier, South El Monte, Santa Fe Springs, and Los Nietos. In addition, nearby communities of Norwalk, La Mirada, Downey, La Puente, and the City of Industry make up part of the College’s district.
Rio Hondo College invites area residents to a big campus celebration on Friday, September 15, to celebrate this milestone. The celebratory event will feature games, food, prizes, and more.
