Montebello Gardens Elementary, located at 4700 Pine Street in the City of Pico Rivera, is the only school that is in the City that belongs to the Montebello Unified School District. This school has been servicing the students who live near the Rio Hondo Park area for over 50 years. Last month, the Montebello Gardens Elementary community was given the exciting news that the neighborhood school was chosen as a Silver Award recipient for the 2024 America’s Best Schools Award by the National Center for Urban School Transformation (NCUST). This award acknowledges Montebello Gardens Elementary as a top school not just in the State of California, but in the Nation.
The 2024 America’s Best Schools Silver Award is a highly respected accolade that honors schools for their outstanding accomplishments in delivering quality education and cultivating a supportive learning environment in urban schools. This award is presented annually to the nation’s highest performing schools. Some of the criteria analyzed include: Non-Selective Admissions; High Rates of Academic Proficiency for Every Racial/Ethnic Group; and High Attendance Rates (just to name a few).
