The popular indoor soccer program, FUTSAL, returns this Spring as part of the City of Pico Rivera’s Youth Sports program. This form of soccer is specially designed to be played on indoor hard-court surfaces while maintaining the basic fundamentals of the game.
The program emphasizes soccer fundamentals, teamwork, sportsmanship, safety and fun. Volunteer coaches will lead the teams and teach basic techniques in passing, dribbling, and kicking.
Games and practices will be played at Pico Park and begin on March 25. Practice schedules will be determined by coaches’ availability.
The cost of the program is $70, which includes a full uniform for four age levels: U8, U10, U12, and U14. Registrations are currently being accepted until Saturday, February 28, at Rivera Park and online at picoriveraca.myrec.com. Participants who register after the deadline will be placed on a standby list. A copy of participants’ birth certificates is required at the time of registration.
