We are excited to announce a major milestone in the Historic Whittier Boulevard Revitalization Program – the release of the DRAFT multi-modal plan. Based on robust community input, the document not only outlines a vision for the future of Whittier Boulevard but also sets the stage for a safer, more accessible corridor for vulnerable roadway users such as seniors, youth, pedestrians, cyclists, and people with disabilities. The plan also outlines a path to establish a thriving “uptown” business district in Pico Rivera. The plan is now available for public review and comment through the month of February. The final plan will be prepared for Council approval in April 2024.
Your input has been invaluable in shaping this plan. We extend our sincerest thanks to all residents, stakeholders, community groups, and our dedicated youth ambassadors who actively participated in our numerous town halls, planning charrettes, pop-up booths, city tours, virtual meetings, and workshops over the past year.
