A little bit of dancing, a little bit of acting. Just a couple of programs that the City’s Parks and Recreation Department will be offering at Rio Hondo Park and Smith Park in March.
A variety of dance classes for young dancers aged 2 to 17 will be offered through Dance Image held at Rio Hondo Park on Monday evenings and Saturday mornings.
Dance classes that young dancers can take include Creative Ballet for Tots (ages 2-3), Ballet and Tap Dance for Preschoolers (4-5), Ballet and Tap Dance for Kids (6-8), and Hip Hop (ages 8-17). Each class is a six-week session, and the fee is $75. Classes begin the week of March 4.
For those with an acting bug ages 7 to 17, you may want to consider taking the Acting Masterclass at Smith Park. The Acting Masterclass builds self-confidence, creativity, and professional-level acting skills. Two classes are offered based on age on Wednesday evenings. Ages 7 to 12 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m., and 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. for ages 13 to 17. The March session begins on Wednesday, March 6 and runs through Wednesday, March 20. Fee for this session is $50.
Registrations for these classes and all other Parks and Recreation classes are taken online at picoriveraca.myrec.com.
