Due to record-breaking temperatures and historic high demands for power, reducing energy use this evening will be key to preventing outages. The California Independent System Operator (ISO) calls another Flex Alert for Wednesday, September 7th, due to an even greater strain on the electric grid and an increased likelihood of rotating outages. Pico Rivera Innovative Municipal Energy (PRIME) is asking customers to voluntarily reduce their energy use between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m in order to help reduce strain on the state’s electric grid. During this time, please consider the following energy conservation tips:

unnamed
  • Pre-cool your home before 4 p.m.

  • Avoid using major appliances
