Spring and Summer traveling season is quickly approaching, and what better way to spend the day than at a California State Park. Both libraries in Pico Rivera have California State Library Parks Passes available for check-out. These day passes provide free vehicle day-use entry to over 200 participating state parks operated by the state to adult library card holders.
In addition to our local libraries, veterans are also eligible for a park pass known as the Distinguished Veterans Pass. This free pass entitles the bearer to free vehicle day use, family camping and boat use at over 100 California State Parks-operated units.
Honorably discharged veterans who live anywhere in California are eligible if they have one of the following criteria/criterion:
» An overall/combined service connected disability at a rating of 50% or greater with service during periods of wartime or operations against a foreign power.
» Held as prisoners of war by forces hostile to the United States.
» Recipient of the Medal of Honor.
