The City of Pico Rivera has been recognized for its outstanding efforts in enhancing public spaces. Last year, the City contracted with Mariposa Landscaping to perform median island improvements along San Gabriel River Parkway and Beverly Boulevard. These enhancements have now earned the City an award from the California Landscaping Contractors Association (CLCA) – San Fernando Valley Chapter.

During last month’s City Council meeting, the award was presented by Larry Rudd, Vice-President of Sales and Marketing for Mariposa Landscaping. The honor, shared with Mariposa Landscaping, is for first place in the Public Works Installation category of the 2024 CLCA Beautification Awards.

The project involved the installation of water-efficient drip irrigation systems and the use of drought-tolerant plants, along with the planting of new trees along these major streets. This initiative showcases the City’s commitment to sustainability and improving the aesthetic appeal of its public spaces.
